The step Codex leaves to you

OpenAI Codex can build a whole front end from a prompt, in the Codex app, the CLI, your IDE or as a cloud task. What it doesn't do is host the result. Codex hands you files, a diff or a pull request, and turning those into a URL usually means a hosting account, a repo connection and a build pipeline. With Tiiny Host you run the build, zip the output folder and drag it on, and the project has a public address before you've finished writing the pull request description.

Host your Codex project in 3 steps

1. Drop in your build

1. Drop in your build

Run npm run build (or ask Codex to), zip the output folder so index.html is at the top level, and drag it onto Tiiny Host.

2. Choose a link name

2. Choose a link name

Features

Hosting that stays out of your way

📦 Any static build

Plain HTML, React, Vue, Svelte, Astro or a static Next.js export. If it builds to static files, it runs here.

⚡ No pipeline to set up

No repo connection, build settings or CI to configure. Upload the folder and you're done.

🤖 Or let Codex publish

Connect the Tiiny Host MCP server and Codex can publish and update the site itself.

🌐 Custom domain

Put the project on app.yourcompany.com with SSL on Solo and above, or keep the free tiiny.site address.

🔒 Password protect

Share a work-in-progress build with a client or your team behind a password (Solo and above).

💬 Feedback mode

From the Tiny plan, reviewers pin comments on the live page with no GitHub account or sign-up.

Compared

Tiiny Host vs setting up a Git-based host

Git-based platforms are built for teams shipping production apps. When you just need a Codex project online and shareable, most of that setup is overhead.

A built front end is usually somewhere between a few hundred KB and a few MB. Small projects fit the free plan's 3 MB. Apps with lots of images or large libraries often need Tiny's 25 MB or Solo's 75 MB, so check the size of your output folder before you upload.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I host a project OpenAI Codex built?

Build it, then upload the output. If the project uses a framework, ask Codex to run the build or run npm run build yourself. That creates a folder, usually dist, build or out, containing index.html. Zip the contents of that folder and drag the zip onto Tiiny Host. A plain HTML project needs no build step: zip the folder with index.html at the top level and upload it.

Does Codex host websites itself?

No. Codex writes and edits code. It works in the Codex app, the CLI, your IDE and in the cloud, where tasks run in a sandbox and finish as a diff or pull request. None of those give you a public website, so you need a host for that step.

I used a Codex cloud task. How do I get the files?

Cloud tasks end with a diff you can open as a pull request on GitHub. Merge it, or check out the branch on your computer, then run the build and zip the output folder. Upload the zip to Tiiny Host and you have a live link to share alongside the pull request.

Can Codex publish to Tiiny Host for me?

Yes. Run codex mcp add tiiny-host --url https://mcp.tiiny.host, then codex mcp login tiiny-host to connect your account. After that you can ask Codex to publish the build or update the live site. If Codex says remote MCP servers aren't enabled, add the setting shown in our MCP connection guide to ~/.codex/config.toml and try again.

Which frameworks work?

Anything that compiles to static files: React with Vite or Create React App, Vue, Svelte, Astro, Angular and plain HTML. Next.js works as a static export with output set to export in next.config. Features that need a server while the site is running, like API routes, server actions or a database, won't run on static hosting.

Why is my site blank after uploading?

Usually the build uses absolute paths, or the zip has an extra folder at the top. Set the base path to relative (base: './' in vite.config, or "homepage": "." in package.json for Create React App), rebuild, and make sure index.html sits at the top level of the zip. Also check you uploaded the build output, not the source code.

Do I need a GitHub account?

No. Tiiny Host doesn't connect to a repo. You upload files directly, from your computer or through the MCP server, so you can host a Codex project whether it lives on GitHub, on your laptop or nowhere yet.

Can I host a Codex project for free?

Yes, one at a time. The free plan gives you one live site up to 3 MB, 5,000 visits a month and three uploads a day. If the build is bigger than 3 MB, Tiny raises the limit to 25 MB from $5 a month billed yearly. If you want several projects live at once, Solo gives you five, each up to 75 MB, with unlimited uploads.

Can I update the site without changing the link?

Yes. Upload the new build over the old one and the same link serves it straight away. Through the API or the MCP server, updating the same project replaces its files in place. On Tiny and above, version history lets you roll back if a new build breaks something.
