From Gemini Canvas to a real website

Gemini Canvas can build a web page, a game or an interactive tool in seconds, and share it with a g.co/gemini/share link. But that link only opens on gemini.google.com, and you can't put it on your own domain, add a password or see who visited. Hosting the code on Tiiny Host makes it a normal website. Copy the code from Canvas, save it as index.html and drop it on Tiiny Host, and the page opens for anyone, in any browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I host a Gemini Canvas app?

Open the canvas, switch to the Code tab and copy all of the code. Paste it into a text editor and save it as index.html. Drag that file onto Tiiny Host, pick a link name and click launch. Your Canvas creation is now a website on a tiiny.site address.

What's the difference between a Gemini share link and hosting?

A Gemini share link, which starts with g.co/gemini/share, lets other people open your canvas, but only on gemini.google.com. It can't use your own domain, doesn't have a password option and doesn't show visitor stats. Hosting the code on Tiiny Host gives it a normal website address with all of those.

Will AI features in my canvas still work?

Canvas apps can use Gemini from inside the page while they run in Gemini. That connection comes from Gemini itself, so those features stop working anywhere else. Everything that runs in the browser, like layout, logic, charts and games, works normally on Tiiny Host.

Can I host a Google AI Studio app?

It depends on the app. AI Studio Build apps are full-stack: a React front end plus a Node.js server that makes Gemini API calls with your key. Static hosting can't run that server, so apps that call Gemini need a server host such as Cloud Run. If your app runs entirely in the browser without calling the Gemini API, build it and upload the output folder to Tiiny Host.

Should I put my Gemini API key in the page?

No. Anything in a web page's code can be read by the people who open it, so a key in your HTML or JavaScript is public. Keep any API calls that need a key on a server.

Can I host code from Gemini CLI?

Yes. Gemini CLI writes files to your computer, so you host them like any project: build it if needed, zip the output and upload it. You can also add the Tiiny Host MCP server to Gemini CLI and ask it to publish for you.

Can I update the page after I've shared it?

Yes. Ask Gemini for a new version, save it and upload it over the old one, and the same link shows the update. The free and Tiny plans allow three uploads a day, updates included; Solo and above are unlimited.

Can I swap the g.co link for my own domain?

Yes. Host the code on Tiiny Host, then connect a domain you own, or buy one through Tiiny Host, on Solo plans and above. SSL is included. On the free and Tiny plans the page lives on a tiiny.site address you choose.

Is it free to host a Gemini app?

Yes. A Canvas app is usually a single small file, so the free plan covers it: one live site, up to 3 MB and 5,000 visits a month, with a small Tiiny Host banner. From $5 a month billed yearly, the banner goes and you get analytics and a QR code for the page.
